Jeffrey I. Young

Associate

During his career as an insurance litigator, Jeff has developed a keen understanding of the nuances of insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation. He first entered the world of insurance law when he took a position at a small Chicago litigation firm, following his 2002 admission to the Illinois Bar. In that position, Jeff gained experience litigating insurance coverage disputes and subrogation matters related to homeowners and automobile policies, and tried numerous cases to verdict.

Jeff expanded his insurance coverage litigation and counseling practice, successfully litigating complex coverage disputes in State and Federal Courts. Jeff’s insurance coverage practice includes issues concerning coverage under commercial general liability, directors & officers, employment practices liability, errors & omissions, and architects & engineers policies. He has also represented clients in countless arbitration proceedings.

Now an associate at Patton & Ryan, Jeff applies his expansive insurance coverage experience to the multitude of coverage disputes that the firm routinely handles. He regularly counsels insurers regarding insurance coverage issues under various types of policies, and monitors claims on behalf of excess insurers.

In addition to his insurance coverage litigation practice, Jeff has represented parties in actions involving products liability, construction defects, construction work place injuries, transportation liability, and premises liability.
