Over two decades, Tom Soule has prosecuted, and defended against, complex claims at all phases of the litigation process. He started at a preeminent plaintiff-side consumer protection firm, where he pursued classwide relief in federal and state courts across the nation – including a victory at the Supreme Court of the United States – for those facing unfair or deceptive trade practices. He then moved to the defense side, representing insured individuals and businesses, as well as several Chicago suburbs, against claims ranging from common negligence and fraud to protracted contractual disputes and alleged legal malpractice. His emphasis on thorough research, effective questioning in written and oral discovery, and plain-English briefing allows decision makers to develop litigation strategies and successfully execute on them.
A native of Glens Falls, N.Y., Tom graduated from Stanford University and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He is a volunteer with the USO, proudly supports the legal advocacy work of Legal Aid Chicago, Cabrini-Green Legal Aid and the Southern Poverty Law Center, and is an avid fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs. He lives in Palatine, Illinois with his wife, Megan Dwyer.
