David R. Drwencke

I have wanted to be an attorney my entire life and every step I took in my educational and professional career has been geared towards being a litigator. My education started at Harper Woods Notre Dame High School, to Albion College and then to the University of Detroit Mercy where I obtained both a master’s degree and Juris Doctor. My professional career started as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Rudy J. Nichols (Oakland County, MI 6th Circuit) where I was immersed in trial court work for nearly seven years and viewed more than 200 trials. I then moved on to be the head legal clerk at Detroit’s premier medical malpractice firm where I was then an associate attorney. I have had the pleasure to work with and for some of the top trial attorneys in Michigan and Illinois before joining the team at Patton & Ryan.

My experience as a clerk and as an associate attorney on the Plaintiff’s side has given me a keen understanding of what it takes to work the most complex and high-value cases in the nation. I pride myself on bringing a zealous and creative approach to every file I am associated with and I think my passion for the law and being an attorney is something my clients recognize immediately upon meeting me.

I am an avid sports fan and have followed my favorite teams from my very earliest days. I am also a fan of technology and love playing around with the latest and greatest gadgets. Otherwise I enjoy reading about politics and continuing my education in the realm of economics and econometrics.
