Emma began her legal career as a 2nd career student, bringing a wealth of professional experience dealing with clients of all educational and vocational backgrounds to her law practice. While attending The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Emma was a 711 licensed law clerk for The City of Chicago Law Department, Building & Land Use Litigation Division. While clerking for the City, she handled a large caseload of code violation cases, with a particular emphasis on porch collapse matters as well as heat, zoning and demolition matters. Emma has appeared in front of the City of Chicago Department of Administrative Hearings and Circuit Court of Cook County.
Prior to joining Patton & Ryan, Emma worked as a sole practitioner, focused on residential housing litigation, including residential foreclosure defense, landlord-side eviction and code violations before both the Circuit Court and Department of Administrative Hearings. Emma looks forward to bringing her case management and litigation skills to successfully defend the firm’s insurance clients in a variety of issues.
